breaking ground
messy, honest and a little brave
There is a moment...
somewhere between hiding and being seen...
where something real begins to surface.
Not polished.
Not Figured out.
Just... true.

Breaking Ground is not an art class.
It's a guided experience where you will create from instinct, not perfection. You'll move your body to reconnect with what's real and practice seeing yourself... without turning away.
No art experience needed.
Just a willingness to show up honestly.
Our first gathering lives in the space between what is hidden and what is becoming visible.
You'll begin by:
-
layering paint like soil - messy, textured, real
-
writing directly into that surface - truth without overthinking
-
moving your body through a grounding yoga practice
-
and returning to create an eye... a symbol of witnessing what has surfaced
This is the practice of seeing.
Not Fixing. Not performing. Just seeing.

So many of us have learned to tidy our emotions, hide the messy parts or look away from what feels vulnerable. But something shifts when you don't. When you stay, and witness, and allow what's true to exist. That's where change begins.
You will walk away with:
A layered, meaningful piece of art
A deeper connection to your inner voice
A felt experience of being seen (by yourself and in communty)
A simple mantra to carry forward:
I will not look away
This is for you if:
-
You've been craving something more - not just another paint night
-
You feel stuck, disconnected, or in transition
-
You want to create, but don't want the pressure to be "good" at it
-
You're ready to explore your inner world in a supported space
You do not need to be an artist. You just need curiosity, openness and a willingness to begin.
Everything else will meet you there.

"This work comes from my own deep dives with mark-making and learning to stay present with what's true - especially when it's messy or unclear. I created Breaking Ground as a space where you don't have to have it figured out... you just have to be willing to show up. I'd love to share this with you."
Nothing to fix.
Something to see.
